For over 20 years, the Arthur L. Davis Publishing Agency, Inc. (ALD) has been a leading publisher in the nursing newsletter market. Every quarter, they publish over 1,600,000 nursing newsletters nationwide. Due to their extremely successful business model, they were very selective in choosing a company to develop a job posting web application for use by their advertisers.

Based largely on our web application development experience, they chose Darning Pixels, Inc. to develop a web application that allows employers to buy and place job postings, banner ads and events. The application tracks views of postings and banner ads, allowing the employer to measure effectiveness. A resume database tool will soon be available to the employers. Nurses can register with the site, upload their resume and utilize a one-click-to-submit button to send their resume directly to employers. Nurses can also sign up for job leads via email, allowing the system to search for the perfect job for them.

Managing the web application is simple, through the custom built content and account management tool we developed. This powerful tool allows ALD to review every item posted by employers or nurses, providing them the ability to reject/accept postings and resumes. Additional administration tool features include; editable product pricing, transaction data export into their billing system, site statistics at a glance, customer account access and a publishing tool for articles, industry links and news.

During the development process, we field tested the web application on over 20 companies and nurses in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Alabama to ensure the application was easy to use and met the demands of both the employers and nurses.
